Creating Listening Activities Using Television Shows
Using television shows in the language classroom can interest students and motivate them to learn, as well as provide authentic linguistic and cultural input. Yet, many teachers have trouble creating effective listening activities using television shows: television shows often contain rapid speech and an unpredictable mix of vocabulary and grammar. The presenter will discuss the benefits and challenges of using television shows in the classroom, and will provide guidelines and examples of effective, meaningful, language focused activities using television shows.
